Mental Health Awareness Month Book Display
About this Event
9701 Hopkins Drive, La Jolla, CA 92093
View SpeakersThis May, visit the Meet Spot in the lobby of Geisel Library and explore a curated collection of books on mental health, resilience and self-care.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, this display features memoirs, graphic novels, poetry, healing narratives, mindfulness resources, guides on stress and anxiety, and clinical perspectives on mental health. There's something here for every kind of reader – whether it's a personal story that resonates, a practical tool, or simply something beautiful.
When you're ready for a break from browsing, head up to Geisel's sixth floor. The Calm Cave (Room 621) is a meditation space with additional books on mindfulness and self-care, and the Zen Den (Room 628) offers a peaceful spot for quiet reflection.
We developed this display as part of the San Diego Circuit Belonging & Mental Wellness Campaign, a collaborative effort by libraries across San Diego County to foster community and support mental health.
Be sure to view the building's open hours before visiting.
Please note that some books in this collection address difficult mental health topics, including trauma, self-harm, suicide, and abuse. Browse with care, and prioritize your well-being.
