Facebook Event Metajornal (a project by MFA candidate Mateus Guzzo with Qianzi Li, Rodrigo Souza, and Danilo Gasques) is a news aggregator for Brazilian alternative media. Experimenting with feedcrafting and collective curation, Metajornal explores algorithm-supported democratic centralism(s) through content aggregation and reorganization. Mateus Guzzo and collaborator Qianzi Li will talk about the process so far and present a working prototype of the website alongside adjacent applications. Prof. Ricardo Dominguez and Prof. Mariana Wardwell will join the audience in a public debate/critique of the project. Light refreshments will be provided.
