May 22, 2025–May 22, 2025 from 7:00pm–8:00pm
Dreams and Dreamers is a concert curated around the idea of dreams as an equalizer for society.
The first pice "Three Dreams" composed by Alex Taylor is a song cycle that emerges from the poetry of four poets of the American continent, in which the topic of dreams resonate throughout different cultures, creating a sense of unity. This piece will be performed by Quartet Noveau, and Dr. Kyle Adam Blair.
The second piece "Aunque es de noche - a musical exploration" is the result of a creative collaboration between in^set trio, and Miguel Zazueta. This piece is inspired in the homologous novel written by Montserrat Rodríguez Ruelas, which tells the story of Ulises, a young teenager who is thrown into the canalization of the Tijuana River and has to make his way through into the sea under precarious conditions, holding on to a promise he made to his mother, and a story she used to tell him about a little girl and her piñata that visited the stars.
It is my hope that this concert will evocate a sense of compassion and unity for all the attendees, as I believe we all are in much need of these values in these trying times.
