March with UC San Diego in the 40th annual San Diego Martin Luther King Jr. Parade from 2–5 PM! This event is open to all, and free shirts and transportation from UC San Diego are available for parade participants. The UC San Diego contingent will be led by a large “UC San Diego” banner, followed by the UC San Diego Pep Band, the Seven Colleges and members of the campus community. Departments and organizations are encouraged to showcase their own banners, letters, and signage while we march in the parade. Department and colleges are not required to wear the parade shirts. PARADE START TIME: 2:00 PM. LINE-UP WILL BEGIN AROUND 1:15 PM in the County Administration Building parking lot downtown (1600 Pacific Coast Highway) FREE transportation to the parade is available for students! Buses to the parade will leave from the Triton Tour Center in Town Square (Myers Drive and Rupertus Way) at noon. Buses are scheduled to return to campus by 4:00 pm Students, staff, faculty, alumni and guests: You don’t have to be on the buses to march in the parade. For those with their own transportation, join the UC San Diego contingent at 1:15 pm at the Parade Assembly Area, which will be at the County Administration Parking Lot (1600 Pacific Coast Highway - intersection of Grape & Pacific Highway).
