Muirstock 2026

On April 22, the college is hosting our annual concert event that celebrates the birthday of our college founder, John Muir. John Muir believed in his students and had an appreciation for nature, diversity, and community. The Muirstock concert is one of the many ways that we demonstrate our college pride. Muirstock is an event that promotes sustainability, the environment, music and outdoor excitement. Throughout the day we are able to interact with many members of the community since the event provides a free BBQ to our students and fun activities such as henna tattoos, tie-dying shirts, photo booth station, and free giveaways. The goals of this event are to foster student learning, creativity, sense of community, wellness, and Muir spirit. Students from all residential areas come together in the Muir Quad and enjoy the fun-filled night of music and activities. This event creates a venue for students who have an appreciation for music and gets our students leaders involved in the planning process of the concert. Our students on the committee get the opportunity to organize a large-scale event. What makes this concert event amazing is the amount of people that assist us with the day. Muir student organizations, professional staff, House Advisors, student volunteers, and the committee are an integral part of the event. Without any of these people the event would not be possible. Muirstock is one of the most branded events at UC San Diego and students are thrilled to tell their friends and family about how much fun, energy, and excitement this day brings.
