Nov 8, 2018–Nov 8, 2018 from 4:30pm–7:00pm
The National First-Generation College Celebration is on November 8, 2018. This date marks the 53rd anniversary of the signing of the 1965 Higher Education Act (HEA), which has helped millions of students become the first members of their families to earn college degrees. On this day, UC San Diego joins college campuses around the nation in recognition of our first-generation students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We will host a campus wide picture at 4:30 pm at the Triton Statue Steps near Price Center, and then we will meet at 5:00 pm at Student Services Center Multipurpose room for an inspirational talk from first-generation staff, faculty and students. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments provided. Register today and celebrate with us.
