May 8, 2017–May 8, 2017 from 7:00pm–8:00pm
Please join us for a special Perspectives on Ocean Science event, the seventh annual Charles David Keeling Memorial Lecture. The Keeling Lecture series is in memory of distinguished Scripps Professor Charles David Keeling’s life and invaluable contributions to climate science and Scripps. This year our speaker is Dr. Rosina Bierbaum. Rosina is a professor at the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment, and School of Public Health. Her research interests lie at the interface of science and policy—principally on issues related to climate change adaptation and mitigation at the national and international levels. The talk will focus on the impacts of climate change already being observed, and those expected in the coming decades. Doors open at 6:30; lecture lasts at 7-8 p.m. Tickets are $8 for Public Admission, $5 for Students and Educators, and free for Birch Aquarium Members. RSVP is recommended for this popular event. Annual Memberships are also available. For more information or to RSVP, visit aquarium.ucsd.edu or call 858-534-5711. Proceeds support exhibits and educational programming at Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
