Francisco Werner, Director, Southwest Fisheries Science Center Long term, sustained ocean observations provide scientists with much needed insight into natural and human induced changes in the world ocean. Join NOAA’s Southwest Fisheries Science Center Director Francisco Werner as he provides a broad perspective on ocean observing and its scientific value and application, as well as a close up look at the important monitoring effort in our own coastal ocean, the California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations. Lecture: 7—8 p.m. Doors: 6:30 p.m. Pre-registration required. Services available for the deaf or hard of hearing. For additional lectures, check our upcoming Ocean Author Presentations. Perspectives lectures are recorded monthly and can be viewed online through the UCSD-TV website. To date, these 130+ videos have been viewed more than 10 million times.
