During his first term, President Donald Trump participated in a period of summit diplomacy on the Korean peninsula. However, the Hanoi summit of 2019 failed to catalyze meaningful negotiations. Following the onset of the war in Ukraine, North Korea quickly aligned itself with Russia and now has troops in the conflict.
What are the prospects for another round of talks on the future of the peninsula? In this roundtable, we’ll hear the views of four prominent North Korea watchers on possible Korea policy in the new administration.
