Discover how an iconic puzzle becomes a medium for collaborative art. Created during Winter Quarter 2026, these large-scale mosaics transform images from the UC San Diego Library’s Digital Collections into vibrant works built entirely from Rubik’s Cubes.

Presented in partnership with the Rubik’s Cube Club at UC San Diego, the exhibit highlights two featured images: Geisel Library and the Colima Dog of Santa Rosalía. More than 100 students and community members helped bring these pieces to life through a series of hands-on workshops, assembling each mosaic cube by cube using custom-designed templates.
