Seeking Truth and Hiding Facts in China

How did one number – gross domestic product (GDP) – come to nearly define Chinese politics? Is the Party now finally ready to leave the church of GDPism? This talk examines the roots of China’s seeming obsession with quantification and whether China is preparing to change its focus on GDP above all else.
