 and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program\, 
 funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)\, is more than a scholarshi
 p. SMART is a unique education and workforce development opportunity for a
 spiring leaders in science\, technology\, engineering\, and mathematics (S
 TEM). Scholarship recipients receive full tuition\, annual stipends\, heal
 th and book allowances\, mentorship\, and conduct summer internships at a 
 DoD facility. All scholarship applicants should be pursuing\, or intend to
  pursue\, a degree in one of the SMART STEM disciplines. Your first step t
 o an impactful civilian career with the Department of Defense is reviewing
