StartR is a nonprofit accelerator for Rady School of Management. Founded in 2013 by a group of UC San Diego Rady School students working on an independent study project, the mission of the accelerator is to provide a program where early stage companies and student teams get mentoring, advice and access to other resources. StartR is a free, six month-long acceleration program held twice a year on the Rady School’s campus. Six teams are selected per program. The acceleration program is focused on hands-on company development and mentorship. At the conclusion of the program, StartR teams are given an opportunity to pitch to investors and industry experts.
