Event Description:

The People Leader Support Series is an interactive recurring webinar opportunity where we take a deeper dive into topics that matter for people leaders as they support their teams throughout the employee lifecycle.

Join us for a special two-part series on burnout and belonging sponsored by Tritons Belong and featuring guest speaker Lisa Nunn, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Sociology at the University of San Diego.  Part 1 (May 27: 10 a.m.) and Part 2 (June 3: 10 a.m.).

The Burnout-Belonging Connection (Part 2): We often hear the wrong message about burnout, that the way to avoid it is to change yourself: adjust your work habits, declutter your calendar; take more time off; "learn to say no;" prioritize activities that rejuvenate you, and so on. While better time management and better boundaries are certainly good for us, they are not the solution to burnout. That's because burnout is a community problem, not a personal one. Dr. Nunn offers sociological insights to help us better understand how that is true. The factors that create a feeling of belonging in the workplace are the very same things that—when absent—drive burnout. That's the Burnout-Belonging Connection.
