Many on the political left believe the Israeli government has harmed the Arab Palestinians and owes them a debt. Are they right? Yes, but for all the wrong reasons. I argue that the harm was not caused—as many claim—by the arrival of Zionist Jews. The harm to Arab Palestinians—and also to Israelis-has been, rather, a consequence of the manner in which the Israeli government conducted the so-called Oslo Peace Process.
Different historical periods will be compared, reviewing the most important milestones, as well as what they imply about the Israeli obligation to the Palestinian Arabs and a possible solution to the conflict that can ensure the happiness of everyone in the Middle East.
