The Neuroscience of Mindfulness-Based Meditation: Mindfulness-Based Improvements of Stress & Health

The Neuroscience of Mindfulness-Based Meditation: Mindfulness-Based Improvements of Stress & Health

Dr. Fadel Zeidan, cognitive neuroscientist and Executive Director of the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness will delineate a comprehensive, yet user-friendly delineation of psychological and neural mechanisms supporting the modulation of stress and promotion of health by mindfulness practices. Noriko Harth will also guide participants in a spectrum of mindfulness practices that have been found to improve health and stress. This day will be rich in scientific and meditative exploration.

Importantly, 5.5 continuing medical education credits will be offered. Although this is a "stand-alone" workshop, it a portion of a 3-part Science of Mindfulness Series that will also describe the effects and practice of mindfulness and compassion meditation on pain and well-being.
