The first of its kind in the COVID-19 global pandemic, the sealing off of Wuhan in 2020 was an extraordinary event in modern history. This talk tells the dramatic story of this world-changing event in the voices of the city’s own people. Compelling stories of citizens and civic groups, in conflict or cooperation with state agents, reveal the intricacies of politics, citizenship, morality and community in the digital age.
