Triton CORE clinicians will provide training designed to help faculty and staff clearly recognize when a student may be in crisis, respond effectively and compassionately in real time, and facilitate a warm handoff to appropriate on-campus urgent mental health services. Crises may include students expressing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, engaging in concerning behaviors, neglecting basic needs such as eating or attending class, or demonstrating a noticeable change in mood, behavior, or functioning that affects academic performance. The training will also address the impact of secondary trauma on faculty and review practical self-care strategies following difficult or high-intensity student interactions.
