Two Russian Composers & Young Artist Winner Debut
Guest conductor Rodrigo Ruiz conducts the La Jolla Symphony orchestra in Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4—one of the most popular symphonies of all time! In between, violist Andrea Fortier, 2014 Young Artists Winner, performs Bela Bartok’s valedictory Viola Concerto in her debut appearance with the orchestra. Pre-concert lecture by Rodrigo Ruiz one hour prior to concert times.
