UC San Diego Campus Transformation and Long Range Plan

Director, UC San Diego Department of Physical & Community Planning

The presentation will provide an overview of UC San Diego’s physical design framework, a Long Range Development Plan update (which charts growth of the campus to 2035) and an overview of the campus’s strategic 5-year capital improvements plan. Mr. Clossin will also discuss the status of the Light Rail Transit project that has started construction. Robert Clossin is the Director of Campus Planning. This unit is responsible for the development and implementation of campus plans, land use and site planning, compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and coordination with outside planning agencies and local communities. Mr. Clossin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies and Planning from UC San Diego, a Master’s of City Planning degree from San Diego State University, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
