  System for our annual Docent Training!\n\nThis training prepares you to s
 upport Wander the Wetlands\, a program that welcomes the public to experie
 nce the marsh twice a month through birding\, fish monitoring\, and weedin
 g.\n\nWhether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply curious about coastal
  ecology\, this is a great opportunity to get involved\, connect with the 
 community and share your passion for nature.\nNo prior knowledge is necess
 ary\, just a willingness to learn!\n\nDocent Information\n\nSchedule: Wand
 er The Wetlands opens to the public from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the second
  and fourth Saturdays of the month. Docent schedule is from 8:30 AM to 11:
 00 AM.\n\nCommitment: Flexible! Docents sign up for shifts at their own pa
 ce — no minimum requirement. That said\, the more you show up\, the bigg
 er the impact you'll have on the community and local conservation efforts.
 \n\nActivities: As a docent\, you'll help lead engaging\, family-friendly 
 programs that highlight the magic of this unique coastal habitat and the o
 ngoing efforts to restore Mission Bay. Program activities include bird wal
 ks\, fish seining\, invasive plant removal\, nature data collection (iNatu
 ralist and eBird)\, Bioblitzes\, and more! The program often partners with
  local nonprofits and cross-border collaborators from Baja California\, of
 fering bilingual programming that reflects and welcomes our diverse commun
 ity. \n\nAccessibility: The terrain varies and may include gravel\, concre
 te\, dirt\, rocky\, and muddy areas depending on the activity performed.\n
 \nLocation: Most activities occur at UC San Diego's Kendall-Frost Marsh Fi
 eld Station\, with some at Crown Point. You will always be able to check t
 he location before signing up for shifts.
