Winter Quarterly Conversations in Global Health: The Opioid Epidemic
Our 2018 Winter Quarterly Conversations in Global Health will be focused on the topic of “The Opioid Epidemic”! The US is the world’s leader in opioid misuse, with 12.5 million people having misused prescription opioids in 2015, according to the US Health and Human Services Agency. During the same year, 2.1 million people misused prescription opioids for the first time and the numbers show no sign of slowing down. Come hear from experts on the topic about what this means for global health and how we can stop this crisis from becoming a worldwide pandemic.
