The UC San Diego Library is hosting Ebb and Flow: Giant Kelp Forests through Art, Science and the Archives, an exhibit curated by Oriana Poindexter ’15, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) alumna and artist, through July 7, 2024.
Birch Aquarium presents Hold Fast, an immersive art installation that explores our local kelp forests and climate change through the lens of local artists and scientists using unique skills and talents to take climate action. Included with admission.
Master Drummer Gene Perry will present the Afro-Caribbean Dance and Drumming Workshop with practical applications of the musical rhythms and dances from various regions with UCSD African Studies students.
The Qualcomm Institute’s IDEAS series hosts a live performance of composer Luigi Nono’s "La lontananza nostalgica utopica futura," by violinist/violist Marco Fusi, musician and artist Michelle Helene Mackenzie, and sound designer Bobby McElver.
Students are invited to share their insights and experiences with architects and planners in order to help ensure that future campus projects reflect the evolving needs of UC San Diego’s students and community members.
